“I started to design a fin with a unique template to improve drive, speed, control and maneuverability. I drew up a template and got my first prototype made from Island Fin Designs. I rode this template and noticed the difference in the ride right away. It felt really natural and smooth. I knew that this was a solid template. I was amped on it and learned everything I could about fins and how they work. I eventually started to work for the same fin design company Island Fin Designs on the North Shore. I would make a fin then surf it after work. With the knowledge that I gained, I fine tuned the fins and made the correct adjustments. BODYBOARDING
Purpose and Design
Vektor fins are designed to enhance drive, speed, and control enabling the rider to take their bodyboarding (dk, stand up or prone) to the next level. The base of Vektor fins are elongated to increase drive. Vektor’s unique rake has a tapered trailing edge to create a natural transition from bite and release giving it a smooth feel.
FCS Base
Vektor Systems is working along with Fin Control Systems (FCS). We are utilizing their revolutionary base design to give you the Vektor System, the most advanced system designed for bodyboarding.
Various Placement
Move the fin up or down to adjust placement and increase the sweet spot. Just screw in fin to secure and unscrew to detach. Placing the fin closer toward your pressure point increases maneuverability and will loosen up the board. Place the fin toward the tail it will increase stability and drive.This allows you to customize your board for various wave conditions and styles of riding. On bigger days you want to be more stable and draw out your turns. On smaller days you want to be able to do quick tight turns while still maintaining drive in all conditions.
Interchangeable
You can interchange various fin models to increase different factors of performance. Some fin templates are designed to give you more maneuverability, drive, speed, hold etc. You can even detach them to go without fins and compare performance.
Performance
Front side and backside fin positioning is designed for different pressure points. Drop knee riders have two pressure points. Frontside we use the knee and backside we use our heel. Some riders pressure points are parallel to each other and some are not. The FCS plugs are placed to adjust to that factor. This allows for 360’s, reverses, tail slides and other maneuvers to be done fluidly and the fins are also designed to give you more control and speed.

Performance
Five fin trailer set up: Use a single vektor fin to the fifth fin position with a quad set up for more control. The trailer fin will keep the tail of the board from being too loose or spinning out in turns. This allows you to push off the tail harder increasing drive through turns without sacrificing the flow and movement typically associated with the quad design.
Thruster plus set up: Add vektor fins to the rear quad positions with a thruster fin to give your board added speed.
Twin plus set up: Adding vektor fins to the side of a twin set up will give the board more stability and drive.
